Welcome to the Eighth IMEBE in Castellón!
The Laboratorio de Economía Experimental (LEE) of the Universitat Jaume I (Castellón, Spain), and the Research Chair Antoni Serra Ramoneda (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona - Caixa Catalunya) jointly organize the Eighth International Meeting on Experimental and Behavioral Economics (IMEBE), organized by Jordi Brandts (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona & Institut d’Anàlisi Econòmica), Enrique Fatás (University of East Anglia), Nikolaos Georgantzís (Granada University & LEE-Universitat Jaume I) and Aurora García-Gallego (LEE-Universitat Jaume I).
The meeting intends to bring together researchers in behavioral and experimental economics, as well as in related areas. A combination of invited and contributed papers will be chosen for the final program. There will also be a number of parallel sessions.
The IMEBE 2012 will have five outstanding invited speakers:

- Thomas Lux (Kiel Universität and Banco de España Chair-Universitat Jaume I)
- Charles Noussair (Tilburg University)
- Pete Richerson (University College London and University of California—Davis)
- Werner Raub (Utrecht University)
Proposals for contributed papers should be sent, in the form of an extended abstract or full paper, to the organizers through the registration form at the IMEBE website.
Important dates:
- Deadline for submissions (extended abstract): December 10th, 2011
- Notification of acceptance: December 23rd, 2011
- Deadline for registration: early registration (January 25th, 2012), late registration (March 1st, 2012)
- Conference dates: March 8-10th , 2012

CONFERENCE VENUE
The conference will be held at the Spa Hotel El Palasiet, Benicassim (Castellón, Spain). The spa hotel is located among the gardens of an antique classical villa from the 19th century. El Palasiet was totally reformed in 2002 and amplified in 2005. It is situated in a privileged place just 50 meters away from the Mediterranean sea and surrounded by the “desierto de las palmas”, with a mild warm clima. It is characterized to be one of the most suggestive hotels on the Spanish eastern coast with a very personal decoration and friendly atmosphere that offer you enchantment and originality.
There are a limited number of rooms with a substantial discount for earlier registers. After February 25th , regular fees will be applicated. Room fare includes buffet breakfast, Wi-Fi and taxes.

SUBMISSION - REGISTRATION
In order to submit a paper, you will need to . After you have created the account and you have logged in, you can submit your paper and you can register for the conference.
Submission: The deadline for submitting papers ends on the 10th of December. Authors shall send a summary, with the most appropriate JEL codes. Additionally, you can submit a full paper in a pdf file.
Registration: Registration includes conference meals, coffee-breaks, welcome reception and the conference dinner. Any guided visit is not included in the fee. The deadline for registering to the conference ends on February 1st for presenting authors. Fees are:
- Before January 25th: €251.
- After January 25th and before March 1st: €302.
Registration fee for an accompanying person (including participation in conference dinner and social events) is €75.

HOW TO GET THERE:
From the Valencia Airport (Manises):
- From the Valencia Airport to Valencia train station (North train station): The underground station is situated directly below the airport. Take line 3 (Airport- Rafael-Bunyol) until Xàtiva station. It takes about 21 minutes, and costs approximately €1.90. Xàtiva station is situated in the city center, next to the North train Station. For further information:
Alternatively a taxi from the Airport to the train station costs approximately €20.
- From Valencia train station (North train station) to the hotel (“El Palasiet”): There are two options:
Take the short distance train (Cercanias) line C-6 with destination Castellon. The journey takes around 1 hour and the cost of a single ticket is around €5. For further information on the timetable:

When you arrive at Castellón Station, a good option is take a taxi from Castellón to “El Palasiet”, which costs between €16 and €20.
Take a long distance train with destination Benicassim station. The journey takes around 1 hour and the cost ranges between €7 and €18 depending on the train. For further information on timetables and train availability check the RENFE webpage: http://www.renfe.com/viajeros/index.html
From Benicassim Station to the hotel “El Palasiet” the best alternative is the taxi that will cost around €5.
From the Barcelona Airport (El Prat):
Take the short distance train (Cercanias) until the stop Barcelona Sants (or Sants Estació). The RENFE train service runs approximately every 30 minutes to and from Barcelona airport to the city centre. Travel time approximately 25 minutes and the journey time is about 25 minutes. The cost of a single ticket cost is around €3.15 for your journey from the airport to Sants Station. Further information on the train service can be found in the following link:

Alternatively a taxi from the airport to the Sans Station will cost around €25.00 for the journey from T2 and €30.00 for your journey from T1. There will also be an additional surcharge charge for each bag you're carrying.
- From Barcelona Sants to Benicassim the best alternative is the long distance train. There are two options:
Take a long distance train from Barcelona Sants to Benicassim station and then a taxi until the hotel “El Palasiet” that will cost around €5.
Take a long distance train from Barcelona Sants to Castellón Station and then take a taxi from Castellón to “El Palasiet”, which costs between €16 and €20.
